Hepworth Dryad Reviews and Comments

New Dryad Feel-Good Factor - The Examiner 2008

The inaugural running of the Hepworth Dryad five mile multi-terrain run from Hepworth village was hailed a major success, but this was much more than just a race. The whole event had a real feel-good factor about it with family health at its core. In the process they raised vital cash for the charity of Professor Lord Robert Winston-Women for Women and the event was established in lasting Loving memory of Sarah Lubinski 36, who died of Cancer in 2006.

Sarahs mother Janet Lubinski started the Run with young Josh Molloy who had recently undergone open-heart surgery. Totties Garden centre gave 25 sapling trees as green prizes for the first 25 finishing runners. It was a great day.

Thanks goes to all runners, helpers, and members of the business community for providing such a heart warming and memorable occasion.

Thank you again to all who took part and fundraised through the Hepworth Dryad run last year,2011. And Good Luck with future events-your positive social impact is now making a real difference.

Runners Reviews

This was the first race I did when I started running in 2008 and I have done it every year since. There is a great combination of woodland trail, country lanes (in the "Last of the Summer Wine" country),fields and stiles, with a sprint finish through the playing fields in Hepworth. The five mile route is varied and challenging, for me at least, and has some fantastic scenery. It is also probably the friendliest race I have done with a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend it and I am looking forward to the next one! ......... and many thanks to the organisers and marshals!

Hi Paula, I just wanted to drop you a quick message to say Thank you for organising such a wonderful and what I thought was a special race. It really was a cracking morning and I think I speak on behalf of all those who took part when I say that your time and efforts were appreciated. I was so thrilled with my Non-Club Runners trophy. Thanks again.

This is truly a fantastic run which borders on being cross country. It’s a classic mix of Multi-terrain which is at times very challenging. An awesome run which is a credit to the organiser, the village and all who took part. Once piece of advice ……..ENTER
